Bio:
Andy Dixon: A guy born in 1979 in Vancouver, Canada to an accountant
and
a teacher.
He is aware that he is unsure of the precise definitions of the
following words (or, at the very least, get's flustered when asked to
define them): appease, adverse, flippant, price, and pride. He is also
aware that he is unsure of many other things, such as: what it is about
a painting that evokes emotional response in him. Is it pure expression
that does it? But then what about that sandwich-board for the florist
by
his apartment that he likes so much? Surely the "artist" of this sign
wasn't attempting to express anything more then the price of a rose,
and
yet Andy is strangely moved by the aesthetics of it.
Andy believes in the possibility that the infinite spectrum of humanity
is not always best expressed in simple language. There are countless
emotional gray-areas for which an assigned word or phrase has not yet
been invented.
He creates music as/with himself, Secret Mommy, and Winning. He runs a
tiny record label. He published his first book of visual art, Weird
Weight, this year (2008). He has done art shows in cities. He enjoys
the
smell of cooking rice.
