Sarah Utter is an artist and musician from Olympia, Washington, currently residing in a secluded cabin on the Puget Sound. She played guitar in the band Bangs for seven years, and now spends her free time experimenting with copy machines, hiding out in libraries, and painting pictures of animal friends. Sarah's work combines her love of the natural world and her fascination with pattern; she explores the possibilities of what can happen when vintage textiles and wallpaper converge with owl feathers and zebra stripes.
In addition to painting, Sarah is also an accomplished graphic designer-- her line of 'Reading is Sexy' t-shirts have appeared everywhere, from Jane magazine to public library shops to television's 'The Gilmore Girls'. She designs her tees exclusively for the fabulous hometown website Buyolympia.com, and recently released a new line of creations for the toddler crowd. When she's not painting, designing, or playing guitar, Sarah enjoys nothing more than hanging out with her two dogs, two cats, and taking long walks in the woods.
